Wilsons Promontory

Wilsons Promontory has some of Victoria's most spectacular beaches, from the famous Squeaky Beach and Norman Beach to quieter and more remote coastal locations — with iconic hikes, mountains and wilderness.

National park

Welcome to Wilsons Promontory

Explore one of Victoria's most important wildlife areas, where you can encounter kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, emus, echidnas and a huge variety of native birds.

For a more challenging adventure, head into the national park for longer hikes through forests, mountains, beaches and spectacular wilderness. Popular walks include Mount Oberon, Tidal River to Squeaky Beach, Vereker Outlook and Sealers Cove.

Walk around the Tidal River area, where wildlife is often seen around the river, grasslands, bushland and campsites — wombats are often spotted during the cooler parts of the day. Some beaches are excellent for swimming in suitable conditions, while others are better suited to walking, sightseeing, photography and exploring.

The road from Foster and Fish Creek passes rolling farmland, forests and the dramatic landscapes of the Prom before arriving at Tidal River.
